Upper Marlboro Player Wins a $40,000 Prize a Keno 8-Spot Bet

An Upper Marlboro man was on his way to visit a friend. While traveling, he made a stop at a liquor store and decided to add a Keno ticket to his purchase. By the time he arrived at his friend’s house, he had won $40,000.

Though Keno is the winner’s usual Lottery game, his stop at Sugarloaf Wine Cellar at 12955 Wisteria Drive in Germantown was a little out of the ordinary. When he plays, he has no specific set of numbers, but rather goes with his gut. For his big win, he purchased a $2 bet on single draw with one of his usual self-selected random 8-spot picks. Adding the super bonus option increased the total ticket price to $6.

Then he stood in the store watching the screen awaiting the winning numbers.

He was quite happy when he realized his ticket was a $40,000 winner. When he reached his destination, he shared the great news with his friend.

The winner works for the federal government. Married for 10 years, he is a father of five.

Sugarloaf Wine Cellar receives a $400 bonus equal to 1% of the prize total.
