$100,000 Scratch-off Win for Baltimore County Nurse

A Baltimore County resident told Lottery officials on June 20 that she was sure she was dreaming when she scratched off a big winning ticket. Although she has won in the past, nothing prepared her for the experience of winning $100,000.

“I really thought that I was going to wake up at any moment.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Pop’s Grocery & Deli at 7459 East Furnace Branch Road in Glen Burnie. The nurse stopped in at Pop’s back in late May with her mind set on buying an instant ticket, hoping they would have a Bingo game.

“Bingo scratch-offs are my absolute favorite,” she said.

As she had hoped, Bingo X10 8th Edition was among the store’s selection. Scratching her ticket later at home, she knew immediately that something special was happening. “I saw the design my matches made and looked at the rules. It was a $100,000 win, which I knew couldn’t be right.”

Visiting a different Lottery retailer, she asked the cashier to check her ticket. “Her eyes opened so wide. That’s when the dream feeling started.”

Bingo X10, a $10 ticket, debuted in March with six $100,000 top prizes. This top-prize win in Glen Burnie is its second. That leaves four in circulation, along with 15 $10,000 second-tier winners among the more than 600,000 prizes still available to players.

Pop’s Grocery & Deli will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the top-prize winning ticket.  Here’s hoping that their newfound cash brings them the peace of mind that the Baltimore County woman told Lottery officials her big win has delivered to her family.
