$50,000 Bonus Match 5 Winning-Ticket Sold at Giant in Ellicott City

A Lottery player in Ellicott City woke up this morning with good reason to be happy after matching the first five numbers drawn on Oct. 12 for Bonus Match 5, securing a $50,000 prize.

The ticket was sold the day of the drawing at the Giant grocery store at 9200 Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City. For selling the top-tier winning ticket, the Howard County retailer picks up a bonus of $500.

The winning numbers for the Monday, Oct. 12, drawing are: 12, 20, 22, 25 and 29. The Bonus Ball number is 39.

Bonus Match 5 drawings are held seven evenings a week. Tickets are available for as little as $1 for a single play, with discounts available for purchasing multiple plays on a single ticket slip. Each play is made by selecting five numbers from a range of 1 to 39. Five winning numbers are drawn, and then a Bonus Ball number is drawn from the remaining 34 numbers. Players who match the first five numbers drawn win the game’s $50,000 top prize. There are prizes ranging from $2 to $600 for having at least two of the winning numbers and the Bonus Ball, or having at least three of the winning numbers.

Instructions for claiming prizes are available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website. Prizes of more than $25,000 must be claimed through Lottery headquarters, either in person or by mail. Lottery headquarters is in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, in Baltimore. An appointment is required to claim in person (no walk-ins).
