$50,000 Top-Prize Win Ends Player’s Wait For Big Prize

Washington County woman hits it big with $50,000 Cash scratch-off

Since its debut in late December, the $20 $50,000 Cash scratch-off game has made a lot of people happy, especially the 55 players who won its $50,000 top prize. The latest player to win, a home loan specialist, told Lottery officials that she didn’t like the game at all – just before she fell in love with it.

“I bought three tickets and took them out to my car,” said the Western Maryland resident. “And, to be honest, I was a bit annoyed when I didn’t do as well with them as I’d hoped.”

She paused, however, before driving away from High’s #013 in Middletown. “I’m not sure why, but I decided to give the game one more try,” she said.

The happy winner still seemed in shock when she claimed her top prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. “I’ve always wanted to win a big prize like this, the same way everyone does, but I never expected I would,” she said. “Every time I played, though, I’d hope and hope that it would happen.” Just as it has for so many Maryland players, the $50,000 Cash scratch-off made that wish come true.

When the game first went on sale, it caught players’ attention because it offered 160 $50,000 top prizes. Her winning scratch-off purchased from High’s #013 at 4301 Old National Pike in Middletown leaves 105 other top prizes available. In addition, 116 second-tier prizes worth $5,000 remain unclaimed. Congratulations also go to the management at the lucky High’s store, which will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for its role in the winner’s Lottery luck.
