$50,000-Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in Prince George’s County

Player bought third-tier winning ticket in Wednesday drawing

A lucky Powerball player certainly had a winning Wednesday night! A customer at Shell Food Mart in Adelphi bought a ticket that won a $50,000 third-tier prize in the Wednesday, April 12 drawing.

No one hit the jackpot, which rolled to an estimated annuity value of $219 million for the Saturday, April 15, drawing, but Maryland had 10,864 winners of prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000. The winning numbers were 9, 36, 41, 44 and 59; the Powerball was 4. Check your tickets carefully if you bought them at Shell Food Mart located at 7430 Riggs Road in Prince George’s County.

Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

So far in 2023, the Maryland Lottery has sold one $1 million second-tier winning Powerball ticket, 26 third-tier winning tickets worth $50,000 to $150,000 and four third-tier Double Play tickets of $50,000 and $50,007. In 2022, the state had two $2 million second-tier winning tickets, seven $1 million second-tier winning tickets, 92 third-tier winning tickets and five Double Play third-tier winning tickets.
