The $847 Powerball jackpot was hit by a player in New Jersey last night, but a Maryland player picked up a $50,000 Double Play win in Bethesda.
That third-tier winning ticket was sold at the Talbert’s Ice & Beverage Service at 5234 River Road in Montgomery County. The winning numbers for the Double Play drawing on Nov. 4 are: 3, 6, 23, 58, 65, and a Powerball of 15.
The player added the $1 Double Play option to their ticket, which makes a single Powerball play good for both the jackpot Powerball drawing and a second Double Play drawing about half an hour later. The top prize for the Double Play drawing is always $10 million, with a second-tier prize of $1 million and a third-tier of $50,000.
The $874 million ticket sold in New Jersey is the ninth largest Powerball jackpot in the game’s history. This is the seventh time the jackpot was won in 2026. This is the first jackpot win since a player in Illinois won a $1.04 billion Powerball jackpot on Aug. 12, 2026.
Since Aug. 13, Maryland Powerball sales reached more than $29.6 million and generated more than $5.7 million in prizes to Maryland winners. Powerball sales during the jackpot roll also contributed $7.4 million to state programs and services, as 25 cents out of each dollar worth of Lottery sales is returned to the state.
That includes 16 winners of $50,000 or more, including an unclaimed $1 million ticket from Middle River, a $200,000 winning ticket purchased in College Park and a $150,000 ticket from North Beach.
In addition to the unclaimed $1M winner in Middle River, there are also unclaimed $50,000 tickets sold in Adelphia, Silver Spring and Baltimore.
The Lottery encourages the winners to sign the backs of their tickets and keep them in a safe location. All players have 182 days after the date of the drawing to claim the prize.
Instructions for claiming prizes are available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website. Prizes of more than $25,000 must be claimed through Lottery headquarters, either in person or by mail. Lottery headquarters is in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, in Baltimore. An appointment is required to claim in person (no walk-ins). The appointment scheduling page shows all available appointment times.
Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights with a jackpot that starts at $20 million and grows after each drawing in which the jackpot is not won.
Tickets have a base price of $2 and are sold in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom. Five winning numbers are drawn from a range of 1 to 69, along with one winning Powerball number from a range of 1 to 26.
