Catonsville Man Rides into Winner’s Circle with Five-Figure Racetrax Win

Claims $39,094.50 prize on Superfecta Box wager

A Baltimore County resident who is a loyal Racetrax player bet the perfect combination to win $39,094.50 on the popular computer-animated game.

The 42-year-old he said likes to use birthdays and license plates for his numbers. The winning numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8, for example, were from the license plate number of a relative.

“I like to switch numbers around, but I’ve been playing 5, 6, 7, 8 for a few months. It feels like a lucky number and it turned out to be lucky,” he said.

The Catonsville man purchased a 10-draw, $.50 Superfecta Box wager with those numbers at a Baltimore 7-Eleven to score his big win. He added the Bonus multiplier feature, which tripled his prize.

The winner said he started playing Racetrax a few years ago when friends introduced him to the game. He won about $10,000 a year ago. He likes to watch live horse racing, too, and loves Racetrax because it brings the excitement of the track to a local Lottery retailer.

Married with two children, the Racetrax fan is a store manager. He plans to use his winnings to place a down payment on a house.

The lucky player bought the winning ticket at 7-Eleven #39352 at 3023 Hammonds Ferry Road in Baltimore City. For selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more, the retailer will receive a bonus of $390.94 from the Lottery, which is equal to 1% of the prize.
