Temple Hills Man Finds $50K Worth of Luck on Lucky 777 Scratch-off

The new Lucky 777 scratch-off hit stores on May 19, and a Temple Hills man has already claimed the game’s first $50,000 prize.

He got inspired to play the $20 ticket when he saw there was a $1 million winner on a similar game in another state. He is a loyal Pick 3-4-5 player, but switched it up by going to Prince George’s County’s Marlow Wings, located at 4147 Branch Avenue in Temple Hills, to purchase a scratch-off.

While using his lucky quarter to scratch the ticket, the retired government employee saw he had the “7 autowin” symbol on his ticket 25 times. That symbol meant he automatically won the prize underneath each number. There were two $10,000 winners, three $5,000 winners, 14 $1,000 winners, one $500 winner and five $100 winners. It all added up to the second-tier prize of $50,000.

According to the Prince George’s County resident, he plans on giving some money to his family and investing the rest of the prize.

The Lucky 777 ticket launched as part of a family of games including tickets ranging in price from $1 to $20. This is the first of eight $50,000 winners on Lucky 777. One of the $1 million top prizes was also claimed on May 19, while five remain. There are also prizes remaining ranging from $20 to $10,000.
