A Hyattsville man was all smiles after he learned he had won $50,000 on a 20X the Cash scratch-off.
According to the winner, it didn’t appear he had a winning ticket after initially scratching it, so he scanned the ticket. He was shocked to see he won $50,000.
Although he didn’t match any numbers, the retired construction worker received a 10X symbol with a prize of $5,000. Any symbol with a number and a X is multiplied by the prize.
In this case, the Prince George’s County resident won $50,000.
The big winner said he plans to use the money toward a car and might use the rest to pay off some of his mortgage.
The winning ticket was purchased at Hillandale Beer & Wine at 10117 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring. For selling the winning ticket, the Montgomery County retailer receives a bonus of $500.
The 20X the Cash game was released in January with seven top prizes of $50,000. One $50,000 top prize remains unclaimed, along with additional prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
