Anne Arundel County Retailer Sells $1 Million Mega Millions Ticket

Jackpot rolls to $30 million for Friday’s drawing

Here are a million reasons to smile, Mega Millions players! If you bought a ticket at Crofton Bowling Centre in Crofton for the Tuesday, Feb. 7 drawing, you may be Maryland’s newest millionaire. That ticket matched five of the winning numbers in the drawing to capture a $1 million second-tier prize.

No one won the Mega Millions jackpot, which rolls to $30 million for the Friday, Feb. 10 drawing with a cash option of $18 million. The $1 million ticket sold in Maryland was one of three $1 million winners sold across the country in the Feb. 7 drawing.

Maryland’s $1 million winning ticket was sold at the Crofton Bowling Centre located at 2115 Priest Bridge Drive. Check your ticket for the winning numbers: 23, 28, 37, 56 and 71. The Mega Ball number was 12 and the optional Megaplier number was 5. Lottery officials encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and put it in a safe location. The winner has 182 days to claim the prize by coming to Lottery headquarters at 1800 Washington Boulevard in Baltimore. This is Maryland’s first $1 million winning Mega Millions ticket sold in 2017.

The retailer is a winner as well. Crofton Bowling Centre will receive a $2,500 bonus for selling the ticket.

Meanwhile, the Lottery is also still awaiting a visit from another millionaire – the lucky player holding a $1 million winning Powerball ticket from the Nov. 23, 2016 drawing. That unclaimed Powerball ticket was sold by the 7-Eleven store at 1191 Coastal Highway in Ocean City. The winner has until May 23, 2017 to claim the prize.

The last Maryland jackpot win in Mega Millions came in March 2014, when Maryland and Florida players split a $414 million jackpot. That winning ticket was sold at Lady’s Liquors in La Plata.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 46 states and jurisdictions. Odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 259 million with overall odds of winning 1 in 15.
