Persistence Leads Lucky Player to $50,000 Lottery Fortune

Claims top prize on Bonus Match 5 game

A persistent Prince George’s County resident is a winning example of what it means to follow your routine. The 62-year-old only plays Bonus Match 5 and does so regularly, even after winning a $3,600 prize a few years ago. This week, the longtime player cashed in a ticket that won the game’s $50,000 top prize.

The lucky man visited Clinton Crossing Exxon located at 8915 Woodyard Road in Clinton. He bought six boards for $4 for the Jan. 14 drawing, with two quick-pick selections and four lines using his lucky numbers.

By matching the winning numbers 4, 11, 20, 37 and 39 with a line of his lucky numbers, the Clinton man won his largest Lottery payday.

The Bonus Match 5 connoisseur told Lottery officials that he has not made any plans for his winnings. The Clinton Crossing Exxon is a winner, too. The Prince George’s County business will receive a $500 bonus for its role in selling a top-prize winning Bonus Match 5 ticket.
