Another Night, Another $50,000 Bonus Match 5 Prize

For the second consecutive night, the Maryland Lottery’s Bonus Match 5 game produced a $50,000 top-prize winner on May 7.

The big winner in Thursday night’s drawing was sold at Colesville Beer & Wine at 13468 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring. The ticket matched the five winning numbers, 3, 8, 14, 17 and 29. The Bonus Ball number in the drawing was 28.

The win in Montgomery County came one night after the Bonus Match 5 drawing on May 6 delivered a $50,000 prize on a ticket sold at Anthony’s Bar & Grill at 10371 Southern Maryland Boulevard in Dunkirk. Each retailer receives a $500 bonus for selling a top-tier winning ticket in Bonus Match 5.

Bonus Match 5 drawings are held seven evenings a week. Tickets are available for as little as $1 for a single play, with discounts available for purchasing multiple plays on a single ticket. Each play is made by selecting five numbers from a range of 1 to 39. Five winning numbers are drawn, and then a Bonus Ball number is drawn from the remaining 34 numbers. Players who match the five winning numbers win the game’s $50,000 top prize. There are prizes ranging from $2 to $600 for having at least two of the winning numbers and the Bonus Ball, or having at least three of the winning numbers.

Instructions for claiming prizes are available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website. Prizes of more than $25,000 must be claimed through Lottery headquarters, either in person or by mail. Lottery headquarters is in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, in Baltimore. An appointment is required to claim in person (no walk-ins).
