Baltimore County Man’s Egg Run Hatches $50,000 Scratch-off Prize

Randallstown winner experiences heart-pounding fun of top-prize win

A Baltimore County player told Lottery officials that he felt his heart begin to pound while on a quick dash to the store for eggs. It wasn’t just the price of eggs, but the Cash Money scratch-off he also purchased that spurred his pulse. The lucky man revealed a $50,000 top prize while scratching off the game in the Randallstown store.

The 25-year-old warehouse worker said he was running errands for his mother and picking up a dozen eggs when he decided to try his luck. He stopped at Kim’s Randallstown Plaza Liquors to purchase the $5 Cash Money scratch-off and played it right there, revealing a matching lucky number and the $50,000 prize. The Randallstown resident couldn’t believe what he was seeing and his heart registered his excitement with a staccato beat.

“I felt it in my heart,” said the winner.

The happy player is keeping news of the win quiet and only shared it with his mother. According to the lucky man, the jackpot funds will go to pay bills and help family members.

“I feel like this was meant to be,” said the winner. “I’m blessed and excited.”

Kim’s Randallstown Plaza Liquors is located at 3619 Offutt Road in Randallstown. For selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, the lucky retailer earns a $500 bonus.

The $5 Cash Money game went on sale in December and features prizes from $5 to $5,000 along with $50,000 top prizes. With this win, three $50,000 top prizes remain.
