Baltimore Lottery Winner Plans to Give Part of $50,000 Prize to Grandkids

A Lottery scratch-off fan from Baltimore was surprised recently by a $50,000 win on the $5 Gold Bar Bingo scratch-off.

“I play scratch-offs often, and it shocked me when I saw that one,” he said July 30 when he claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

Thrilled to have won, he’s hoping to repeat the experience, so when asked if he’d keep playing, his response was an emphatic “Oh, yeah!”

He anticipates sharing his winnings with family members.

“I’m going to give some to the grandkids, nieces and nephews. The rest is for me,” he said, adding he plans to travel to see family members in other parts of the country.

The winning ticket was purchased at Paradise Liquors at 2221 Pennsylvania Avenue in Baltimore City.

The win came on the 6th Edition of the Gold Bar Bingo game, which is closing out after having been available since July 2025. A 7th Edition of Gold Bar Bingo went on sale two weeks ago and still has all seven of its $50,000 top prizes unclaimed.
