A Gaithersburg woman who is quite the scratch-off enthusiast recently bought a Triple Red 7s Multiplier and scored a $77,777 top prize.
The ticket was purchased at Brighton Beer & Wine at 225 Muddy Branch Road in Gaithersburg. Without a rhyme or reason, she pointed to the $10 Triple Red 7s ticket. Before leaving the store, she scratched her ticket revealing a “7” symbol over the sum $77,777. She then scanned the ticket to confirm her win.
Instead of an outburst of excitement, she kept quiet and left the store.
The only person she has shared the news with is her son, who accompanied her to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore on July 29. She plans to use her winnings to fix up her home. When she’s not playing Lottery, she enjoys spending time at home cooking.
Brighton Beer & Wine receives a bonus of $777 for selling the top-prize winning scratch-off.
The Triple Red 7s Multiplier ticket was launched in May beginning with 10 top prizes, of which seven remain unclaimed.
