$50,000 Cash scratch-off yields yet another top prize
The $50,000 Cash scratch-off continues to bring in top-prize winners. The popular scratch-off, which launched in December of 2022, began with 160 $50,000 top prizes. There are 74 remaining. The most recent win was claimed by a Wicomico County woman on April 25.
The avid Lottery player and her husband left dinner Wednesday night in separate cars, and on her way home, she felt lucky and stopped at Thirsty’s in Delmar to purchase some scratch-offs. She bought one $50,000 Cash ticket and won $50. After the win, she decided to purchase three more. The next two she scratched were not winners, but the final ticket revealed a $50,000 top-prize win.
“I scanned the ticket and the message said to bring to the Lottery,” said the mother and grandmother when she claimed her prize. “I knew right away it was a $50,000 win, because the next prize down, I could cash right in the store.”
The happy winner called her husband on her ride home to share the good news.
“She asked me what day I could take her to Baltimore,” said her husband, who accompanied his wife to claim the prize.
Once home, the lucky winner showed her husband the scanned winning message on her phone and the winning ticket. After a brief celebration, the couple made an appointment to claim the prize on Thursday. The Eastern Shore woman said her winnings will go towards her mortgage.
The Delmar store that sold the winning ticket is also celebrating. Thirsty’s located at 9534 Ocean Highway receives a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
As mentioned, the $50,000 Cash scratch-off still has 74 top prizes remaining as well as 86 $5,000 prizes and many more prizes ranging from $20 to $500.
