Edgewater Man Monitors Progressive Jackpot, Buys Tickets, Wins $133,231

FAST PLAY Payday game has final progressive jackpot winner

A Maryland Lottery Multi-Match enthusiast switched up his game and won $133,231 playing the $5 FAST PLAY Payday game.

Upon claiming his prize July 19 at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, the winner said he had been watching the progressive jackpot game’s prize grow. The Edgewater man realized the progressive jackpot, which started at $40,000, was large and the game was on track to expire the next time the progressive jackpot hit. With this in mind, he added the FAST PLAY Payday game to his usual Multi-Match ticket purchases.

The Anne Arundel County resident picked up an additional FAST PLAY Payday ticket here and there over the next few days. When he got a ticket at Lou’s Stop Shop in Edgewater on the morning of July 18, his efforts paid off with a $133,231 jackpot.

Upon claiming his winnings, the loyal player said he’s socking the money into investments and looking ahead to a day when he can retire. In the near future, though, he’ll enjoy a celebration of some type.

His lucky Lottery retailer was Lou’s Stop Shop located at 1208 Mayo Road in Edgewater. For selling a progressive jackpot-winning FAST PLAY ticket of $100,000 or more, the store picks up a bonus of $1,000 from the Lottery.
