End-of-Day Scratch-off Play Gives St. Mary’s County Man a $50,000 Prize

St. Mary’s County man claims first $50,000 prize in $20 game

The Bonus Bingo X20 2nd Edition scratch-off, which went on sale only two weeks ago, already has a big winner! A Southern Maryland man just claimed the game’s first $50,000 second-tier prize.

The truck driver said he loves to play bingo- and crossword-themed scratch-offs and was excited to play the second edition of the Bonus Bingo X20 scratch-off. The $20 extended-play game gives players the chance to win on eight bingo cards.

“I like to play them to pass the time,” he explained.

The big winner reports having a ritual of buying instant tickets and playing them later at home. When it is the end of the day, he likes to sit down and try his luck with his scratch-offs.

The St. Mary’s County resident was looking at his instant tickets recently when it appeared one of his bingo cards had some matches. It was getting late and he was tired so the loyal player scanned the scratch-off using his Lottery app. That scan revealed he was a $50,000 winner.

“I was shocked and I was very happy,” he said. The winner plans to use his prize to help his daughter.

He bought the lucky instant ticket at the Food Lion located at 40955 Merchant Lane in Leonardtown.

This new edition of the Bonus Bingo X20 game went on sale Feb. 10.  Six $50,000 prizes remain unclaimed. All five $500,000 top prizes are available, along with 43 of 45 $10,000 prizes and others ranging from $20 to $5,000.
