Third of eight top prizes claimed on popular scratch-off
A Maryland Lottery player from Frederick has practical plans for the proceeds of a $50,000 win on the $5 scratch-off game Corvette Cash: paying off a second mortgage.
Visibly jovial about his win, the winner said he has won before, but never that much. He said it seemed like he was winning $1,000 once a year for three years in a row. In addition, he is a My Lottery Rewards participant and once won a second-chance prize.
Speaking of second chance, anyone with a Rewards account can enter any non-winning Corvette Cash ticket for a shot at winning one of three $10,000 prizes or a grand prize of $150,000. Details are on the Lottery website.
Sharing in his good fortune is Sheetz convenience store # 696 at 23 Thomas Johnson Drive in Frederick, which picks up a bonus of $500 for selling the top-prize ticket.
Though released only about a month ago, Corvette Cash quickly shot to the top of the Maryland Lottery’s Top 40 Scratch-offs chart, hitting the No. 4 spot last week before settling in at No. 5 this week.
The Frederick player’s $50,000 win is the third at the top-tier level, leaving another five such prizes unclaimed.
