Delaware resident finds lucky instant ticket in Salisbury
She doesn’t buy Lottery tickets too often, a Delaware woman told officials on Thursday, and life rarely brings her to Salisbury, but both events happened earlier this week and she’s all the richer for it. In fact, she’s $50,000 richer.
She revealed a second-tier prize on the Money Rush scratch-off.
“A good friend of mine who I’ve not seen for years was passing through Salisbury on the way to the beach,” the teacher explained. Arriving there early, she decided to gas up the car. “I went inside to get a drink and, at the register, the Lottery urge hit me.”
The lucky woman picked that scratch-off to play for a specific reason. “A coworker once told me that brand new scratch games are the best to play, that the big winners show up more often. I don’t know if it’s true, but that’s what I buy when I play.” Asking the clerk for the newest game he had, she was directed to the $10 instant ticket.
Money Rush is indeed a new game, having debuted on July 22. However, winning instant tickets are distributed randomly throughout the entire run of the scratch-off game, which is the case for all scratch-off games. “I believe you,” the Delaware native assured Lottery officials. “But this plan has worked for me, so I’ll stick with it.”
The $50,000-winning Money Rush instant ticket was waiting for our winner at Riverside Market, 519 Riverside Drive in Salisbury. Swing by the Wicomico County business next time you’re in Salisbury, just in case Lottery luck lingers there. Money Rush still has all nine of its $100,000 top prizes to offer, as well as 10 more $50,000 second-tier winners and 29 $10,000 winners.
