Someone’s weekend got off to a great start after buying one of the new FAST PLAY 20X Cash tickets Thursday evening, Sept. 11, in Gaithersburg and winning a $311,795 progressive jackpot.
The $20 FAST PLAY ticket was released Monday, Sept. 8, and the winning ticket sold in Gaithersburg was the first progressive jackpot-winner purchased. It was sold at the Giant grocery store at 46 Bureau Drive in Gaithersburg. For selling the winner, the Montgomery County store also got the weekend off to a good start, receiving a $1,000 bonus.
The FAST PLAY 20X Cash progressive jackpot game now has 19 progressive jackpots remaining, having started with 20. The progressivejackpot resets at $300,000 after each winner, and as of mid-morning today (Sept. 12) it had grown to nearly $301,000. The top prize on FAST PLAY progressive jackpot games increases incrementally each time a ticket is sold. Tens of thousands of non-changing lower tier prizes ranging from $40 to $10,000 remain on the game.
The Lottery urges the winner to sign the back of the ticket and put it in a safe place. The player has 182 days (six months) from Sept. 8 to claim the prize.
Instructions for claiming prizes are available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website. Prizes of more than $25,000 must be claimed through Lottery headquarters, either in person or by mail. Lottery headquarters is in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, in Baltimore. An appointment is required to claim in person (no walk-ins).
