Glen Burnie Racetrax Player Crosses Finish Line with $37,368 Prize

Wins big bucks with Superfecta Bonus bet

A 43-year-old Racetrax fan was at her favorite Glen Burnie restaurant with her husband on Saturday when Lady Luck galloped by. The Anne Arundel County resident, who was enjoying dinner while playing Racetrax and Keno, walked away with a $37,368 Racetrax prize.

The University of Maryland employee placed a $1 quick-pick bet for 10 races, selecting a Superfecta combination for horses 6, 4, 2 and 11 to cross the finish line in that order. And guess what? The horses did in the very last race! She had added the Bonus option, too, to the 10 races and the Bonus multiplier for that trip around the track was x3. However, the big winner was busy socializing and missed the actual race.

“I scanned my tickets later and I thought it was a mistake when it said I won,” said the Glen Burnie resident. “So, I closed down the app twice, but when I scanned again it still said I was a winner.”

The mother of three grown children and one grandchild was still in disbelief. She had her husband scan the ticket, too and the result was the same. She was holding a $37,368 winning ticket! They didn’t immediately leave Pappas Restaurant & Sports Bar but stayed and enjoyed the evening.

The big winner plans to use the prize to help pay for a ceremony where she and her husband will renew their wedding vows. The rest of the funds, she said, will go toward bills.

Also celebrating in this big win is Pappas Restaurant & Sports Bar located at 6713 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. The Lottery retailer picks up a bonus of $373.68, equal to 1% of the prize, for selling a Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more.
