Howard County Man Wins $2.2 Million FAST PLAY Progressive Jackpot

A Howard County man is celebrating a stunning Lottery win after a FAST PLAY Ultimate Payday ticket earned him a $2,205,023 progressive jackpot prize.

The winner recently stopped by Maryland Lottery headquarters to share his story and claim his prize.

For the past 10 years, the Howard County resident has been a weekly Lottery player. His favorite games include FASTPLAY and draw games such as Pick 4. A few years ago, he experienced his first major Lottery win when he won $50,000.

“I felt on top of the world,” the winner recalled of his $50,000 win. Since then, he’s been chasing that feeling.

The winner stopped at the Exxon located at 6037 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville on his way home. While at the store, he decided to purchase a FAST PLAY ticket.

After scanning his ticket, the screen displayed a message telling him to “see Lottery.” As a previous winner, he knew that message could mean he had won a substantial prize.

He quickly called his wife to share the news. When he arrived home, the couple celebrated.

The winner said the couple plans to be responsible with their newfound fortune, with saving for their upcoming retirement.

The lucky retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

The FAST PLAY Ultimate Payday game has eight progressive jackpots remaining after this win. Each time the jackpot is hit, it resets to $500,000 and grows with every ticket sold.
