Lottery Looking for FAST PLAY Payday, Powerball Winners

Players bought lucky tickets in Abingdon, Waldorf

The big wins just keep coming for Maryland Lottery players! A FAST PLAY Payday player hit the ninth progressive jackpot in the game Friday afternoon, scoring a $79,767 prize, while a Powerball player bought a $50,000 third-tier winning ticket in Saturday’s drawing.

Selling the $79,767 Fast Play jackpot-winning ticket was Lottery retailer NSR Mart (Burchmart) #228 located at 10195 Berry Road in Waldorf.  The Payday progressive jackpot starts at $40,000 and increases with the sale of each ticket until a progressive jackpot-winning ticket is sold. Jackpot amounts for FAST PLAY progressive jackpot games are updated every 15 minutes on the Lottery’s website, and up-to-the-minute figures are printed on each ticket.

The winning Powerball numbers in the Aug. 21 drawing were 16, 28, 36, 39 and 59; the Powerball was 4. Check your Powerball tickets carefully if you bought them at Wegmans #53 located at 21 Wegmans Boulevard in Abingdon. The lucky retailer is in Harford County. This year, Maryland has had 38 third-tier $50,000 winners.

No one hit the Powerball jackpot, which rolled to $293 million for tonight’s drawing with a cash option of $214.2 million. Tonight is the debut of Monday night Powerball drawings, with the game expanding to three drawings a week and adding a Double Play feature to the game. Double Play details are available HERE.

Lottery officials encourage winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

Instructions on claiming prizes in person or by mail are available HERE. Players must redeem prizes larger than $25,000 by mail or at Lottery headquarters in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330 in Baltimore.
