Cecil County man claims $100,000 top prize on 50X The Cash game
A Pennsylvania transplant has made Maryland his home for the last two years. Thanks to the Maryland Lottery, he has thoroughly enjoyed his stay!
The Elkton resident played scratch-offs while in Pennsylvania, but after relocating to Maryland, began winning and captured two big Lottery prizes. A few years ago, he took home a $50,000 prize and his latest Lottery feat involved a $100,000 top-prize win on the 50X The Cash scratch-off.
The happy winner bought his ticket at Royal Farms in Elkton. The Cecil County man has what he calls “lucky days,” which happen to be Thursdays and Saturdays, where he just feels especially lucky about certain instant tickets. In general, he reserves these feelings for scratch-offs that are $5 and up. His latest lucky feeling that led him to a $10 50X the Cash scratch-off did not steer him wrong.
It was while sitting in his car that he learned he won big. The player scratched his instant ticket and revealed a 10X symbol with a $10,000 prize. After realizing that his prize was 10X $10,000, he began to indulge in some happy and celebratory expletives. He then called a family member to share the great news.
Plans for his newfound fortune include giving half of the funds to a family member to start a business and buying a new motorcycle for himself. A retiree, the scratch-off fan enjoys going fishing in his free time.
His lucky Lottery retailer is also a winner. Royal Farms, located at 25 Augustine Herman Highway in Cecil County, will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off worth $100,000.
The 50X The Cash game, which went on sale in January along with a Multiplier family of games, has a second-chance promotion offering three more drawings with the chance to win $50,000 or $75,000 prizes. The game also has five of 10 $100,000 top prizes awaiting discovery. Also remaining are five $50,000 prizes, 13 $10,000 prizes and other ranging from $10 to $1,000.
