Food service worker claims second-tier prize on Mega Bucks game
An Anne Arundel County woman experienced plenty of excitement when she scratched her way to a $50,000 second-tier prize in the Mega Bucks game.
The food service worker, who is using her first name of “Sandra” to tell the story of her Lottery luck, scratched off the first number on the $10 game and matched a winning number for a $25 prize. She won $1,000 on the next number. “Sandra” kept scratching and winning. She won four prizes of $10,000, nine $1,000 prizes and multiple $25, $100 and $200 prizes for a total score of $50,000.
“I was so excited. My heart started to drop. The first thing I did was call my family,” “Sandra” recalled with a smile.
Undecided on how she will spend her prize, “Sandra” told Lottery officials that the funds will probably go toward her family. She bought the winning ticket in Crownsville at the Herald Harbor Inn & Mini Mart located at 400 Herald Harbor Road in Anne Arundel County.
The Mega Bucks scratch-off went on sale Nov. 27. This is the third of 10 50,000 winning scratch-offs claimed. Six of the nine top prizes of $100,000 are awaiting discovery, along with other prizes ranging from $10 to $10,000.
