Player who enjoys ‘thrill of trying to win’ likes winning even more

A Maryland Lottery enthusiast from Baltimore scored $10,000 on a scratch-off, which was a bonus because he mainly plays for sport.

“I like the thrill of trying to win,” he said on Jan. 6 while claiming his prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. Going by the alias “G Money,” he said a major attraction for playing scratch-off games is their fun designs, adding, “Some are really eye-catching!”

Before winning a grand on the $10 Money Rush game, his previous personal best was a win of $1,000, he said.

“G Money” bought his big ticket at Wilkens Liquors, 4626 Wilkens Avenue in Baltimore. Money Rush has a top prize of $100,000 and the $10,000 prize was actually a third-tier score. Two of the original eight $100,000 prizes are still unclaimed. Meanwhile, there’s a single unclaimed prize at the second-tier $50,000 level and a single $10,000 winner remaining.
