Parking Lot Issue Drives Lucky Player to $100,000 Scratch-off Payday

Frederick woman claims top prize on Bingo X10 scratch-off

It’s often suggested that people not make rash, hasty decisions to avoid undesirable outcomes. The story of a Frederick woman’s $100,000 Lottery payday, however, shows that sometimes an abrupt decision can lead to good fortune. She left one Lottery retailer after a parking lot issue to play games at a different store and won a top prize on the Bingo X10 Sixth Edition scratch-off.

The 59-year-old enjoys playing the $10 instant ticket. While sitting in the parking lot of a Wawa convenience store, before going in to buy her games, another car pulled up beside her a little too close for her liking. Frustrated yet determined to play her favorite scratch-off, the loyal player quickly left the store for A-1 Mart located at 649 Himes Avenue in Frederick.

When she arrived home later that day it took her no time to get started on her scratch-off. However, it did take quite a bit longer to process what she saw. The Frederick County woman thought she saw matching numbers, but didn’t trust her own eyes. She scanned the instant ticket using her My Lottery Rewards mobile app and the “See Lottery Retailer” message made her even more antsy. After several more looks at her scratch-off, she called her son to help confirm her win. An avid Lottery player, the son confirmed what she saw and that’s when the excitement began.

This win comes at a perfect time for the lucky woman. She’s planning to sell her home and move so this windfall will help in the process. Her plans also include saving some of the prize, paying bills and possibly taking a trip to Las Vegas.

Her lucky retailer, A-1 Mart, will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
