Powerball players in Gwynn Oak and Hagerstown should check their tickets from the Dec. 17 drawing. Although no one hit the $1.25 billion jackpot last night, two Maryland Lottery tickets matched four of five white balls and the red Powerball for a $50,000 third-tier prize.
Saturday’s drawing has an estimated annuity value of $1.5 billion, with a one-time payment option of $686.5 million. If a player in Maryland wins the jackpot, the State receives an estimated $65.2 million.
Winning numbers for the Dec. 17 drawing are 25, 33, 53, 62, 66 and PB: 17.
The two Maryland $50,000 winners were sold at:
- Love’s Travel Stop at 18434 Showalter Road in Hagerstown
- Speedy Mart at 1697 North Forest Park Drive in Gwynn Oak
The last time all six numbers were hit was Sept. 6, when players in Texas and Missouri split a jackpot with an annuity value of $1.787 billion. Since Sept. 6, a total of 22 players in Maryland have won $50,000 or more in second and third-tier prizes.
In addition to the two prizes from the Dec. 17 drawing, the following also remain unclaimed as of Dec. 18:

- A $50,000 ticket for the Nov. 15 drawing sold the day of the drawing at Silver Spring Cheese & Wine at 8746 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring
- A $50,000 ticket for the Nov. 26 drawing sold Nov. 25 at Dollar Plus at 108 South Broadway in Baltimore
- A $50,000 ticket for the Dec. 10 drawing sold the day of the drawing at Klein’s Shoprite at 223 North Main Street in Bel Air
- A $50,000 ticket for the Dec. 13 drawing sold Dec. 12 at Sheetz at 5601 Buckeystown Pike in Frederick
- A $50,000 ticket for the Dec. 15 drawing sold the day of the drawing at 7-Eleven at 6860 Racetrack Road in Bowie
Winning Powerball tickets for $50,000 to $1 million sold since Sept. 6 that have been claimed were sold in Annapolis, Accokeek, Baltimore, Belcamp, Clements, Dundalk, Hanover, Lanham, Silver Spring and Reisterstown.
Since the Sept 6 drawing, Powerball ticket sales in Maryland have totaled $44.9 million, with an estimated $11.2 million going to the State, $8.6 million to prizes and $2.6 million to retailer commissions. About 25 cents of each dollar in sales goes to the State General Fund.
The last time a Maryland player won the Powerball jackpot was on Jan. 20, 2021. The $731.1 million annuity value ticket was sold at Coney Market in the Allegany County community of Lonaconing. The prize was claimed by an anonymous winner.
Powerball tickets are $2, with drawings held Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Both the Powerball and Double Play drawings have nine different prize tiers, with Powerball ranging from $4 up to the jackpot and Double Play ranging from $7 to $10 million.
The Lottery encourages all of the winners to sign their tickets and put them in safe places. All tickets worth more than $25,000 must be claimed by appointment through Lottery headquarters within 182 days of the drawing date.
