Prince George’s County Man Scores 2nd Big Lottery Scratch-Off Win

Hyattsville player wins $100,000 after collecting $50,000 in 2019

The last time he won a big Maryland Lottery prize, the Hyattsville resident used the $50,000 to renovate his house. While unsure what his new $100,000 scratch-off prize will finance, the winner does know he and his wife will have a celebratory evening out, “dinner at a nice place,” he said.

The lucky Prince George’s County man’s new top-prize win came on the $10 scratch-off game Show Me $100,000!, which he bought at 7-Eleven #11569 at 11422 Cherry Hill Road in Beltsville.

“I scratched it right away then scanned it on my phone. It was kind of hard to believe. I had to scan it three times,” the winner said on Jan. 25 while claiming the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. His previous win came in September 2019 on a Deluxe Crossword scratch-off.

Sharing in his good fortune is the 7-Eleven, which receives a bonus of $1,000 from the Lottery for selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.

The Show Me $100,000! game went on sale in May 2022 and still has two $100,000 top prizes remaining, along with two unclaimed $50,000 prizes and four $10,000 prizes.
