A Queen Anne’s County man, who said he’d never play an animated horse racing game, is glad he did after winning a $31,521 prize on the popular Racetrax game.
“I remember when the game came out and I told my friends, ‘I’m not playing that cartoon’, chuckled the big winner. “But one day I did. I started to win and I’ve been playing ever since.”
The Centreville man typically stops at the local Citgo to play Racetrax and a few other Lottery games that he enjoys. Earlier this week, while helping a friend move, he made sure to pick up his tickets. He placed a $1 Trifecta Wheel bet for 20 races with the bonus. He put his tickets away and continued to help his friend.
Later that day, the compliance officer checked mdlottery.com for the race results and was excited when he saw his numbers.
The father of two said he kept the news of his big win to himself, but might reveal it one day. In the meantime, he said he’ll pay some bills with his win and plans to continue to play.
The Citgo at 426 South Commerce Street in Centreville is also sharing this winning moment. The Queen Anne’s County retailer will receive a $315.21 bonus, equal to 1% of the prize amount.
