Construction worker plays Racetrax in multiple states
A Washington, D.C. man is S36,521.50 richer after taking 20 chances on seven numbers in a Racetrax Superfecta Wheel bet.
“I was excited that I won,” said the loyal player. “I’m glad I was a winner.”
The 54-year-old loves to play Racetrax and said he plays more than four times a week. A construction worker, he is sent to work sites throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and that presents opportunities to play other games in different states.
For this winning ticket, he visited a Giant grocery in Hyattsville. He placed a Superfecta Wheel bet, selecting seven horses to finish first, second, third and fourth in exact order. His choices were the No. 5 horse for first place, the No. 4 or 8 horses for second place and the No. 6 or 9 horses to finish in third place. He added two horses to win fourth place: No. 10 or 11.
The lucky combination won in the 15th race, in the order of 5, 8, 9 and 10.
In addition to Racetrax, he likes to bet on live horse races at Charleston, West Virginia and at Ohio. He also visits Maryland casinos to place bets on NBA, NHL and WNBA games.
“Ever since Maryland legalized sports betting, I have spent a lot of time at MGM National Harbor and Maryland Live! (Live! Casino & Hotel),” he said.
For selling the winning Racetrax ticket, his lucky Hyattsville retailer earns a bonus from the Lottery that is equal to 1% of the prize. Giant #334 at 3521 East West Highway in Prince George’s County sold the winning ticket and will receive a $365.21 bonus.
