Randallstown Player Has $50,000 Extra for Cruise after Bonus Match 5 Win

A Baltimore County woman has extra pocket money for an upcoming cruise after winning $50,000 July 12 playing Bonus Match 5.

A big fan of Maryland Lottery, the Randallstown resident was out and about on Saturday, the 12th, when she decided to pop into Wheaton Services in Baltimore to play her favorite Lottery games. Among the tickets she purchased was a $4 Bonus Match 5 ticket with three combinations for two the drawings on July 12 and 13.

It was a couple of days later before she realized the Bonus Match 5 ticket was a $50,000 top-tier winner. The administrative assistant, who works from home, said she was shocked when she began checking her tickets using the Maryland Lottery app on her phone.

“When I saw that my numbers matched, I thought, ‘Are you kidding me?’” she said while sharing her story with Lottery officials July 15 when she claimed the prize. “I was so surprised!”

After the shock of the $50,000 win died down, the winner drove to Lottery Headquarters in Baltimore to claim the prize. She plans to use her winnings during a previously planned cruise vacation and also expects to share some of the prize money with her daughter.

An interesting twist to this Bonus Match winning story is that on the day the Randallstown player purchased her ticket, six other $50,000 winning tickets were also sold at the same location, Wheaton Services. The Lottery is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the holder or holders of the other winning tickets. Lots of celebrations are bound to occur.

That celebration includes Wheaton Services at 225 N Eutaw Street in Baltimore City. The store will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the winning ticket (and $500 for each of the other winning Bonus Match 5 tickets).
