Research Leads to $100,000 Scratch-off Win for D.C. Player

A Washington D.C. resident told Lottery officials on June 30 that he is somewhat of a “student” of scratch-offs. The studying he recently did pointed him to $100,000 Ca$h ticket last week, a decision that made him the latest winner of the game’s $100,000 top prize.

“I have a system that takes a bunch of things into account,” the federal employee explained. “It’s all information I find on the Lottery’s website.” His research focused his attention on $100,000 Ca$h. “There were plenty of big winners still available and the game’s been out for almost two years.”

Following his routine, he scanned his ticket immediately after purchasing it from the vending machine at the Lucky Mart convenience store in Colmar Manor. “I’ve won plenty of times, but had never seen that before.” The “that” to which he refers is the instruction to bring the ticket to the Lottery. “I started to get a little excited.” Our winner then asked the clerk to check his ticket. “When I saw her reaction – that’s when I got really excited.”

$100,000 Ca$h is a $30 ticket that debuted in September of 2023 with 65 $100,000 top prizes. Among the more than 800,000 cash prizes still in circulation, 48 top prizes are remain unclaimed.

The owners of Lucky Mart receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize winning ticket. The Prince George’s County retailer is located at 4201 Bladensburg Road.
