Lottery enthusiasts plan to continue playing for the fun of it
A husband and wife team from Bel Air has long enjoyed playing Maryland Lottery games, partaking at one time or another of pretty much every game of chance the Lottery offers. A $10 Money Rush scratch-off just gave them a $50,000 win, their largest prize to date.
“I bought the ticket. He signed it,” said the wife, adding, “This is our first big win.”
That’s not to say the two have not had a lot of fun playing and winning Lottery games. They are active in My Lottery Rewards second-chance promotions and she was once a Home Run Riches Contestant of the Game. The Baltimore sports fans have also had success in the second-chance drawings for Ravens prizes.
The two, both retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground, have three sons and a granddaughter in line to benefit from their windfall. In addition, some of the money will probably go toward a previously planned pickup truck purchase. And, the odds of a celebratory dinner for two, likely featuring crab cakes, are pretty much 1 in 1.
Going forward, they plan to continue enjoying Lottery games and the anticipation of hitting big (or bigger) sometime in the future.
They bought the winning Money Rush instant ticket at the Sheetz convenience store located at 601 Pulaski Highway in Joppa. The game, which went on sale July 22, has a top prize of $100,000. To date, one of the original nine top prizes have been claimed, and the Harford County couple’s win reduces the number of unclaimed $50,000 second-tier prizes to nine of the original 11. Money Rush also has 27 $10,000 prizes available along with others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
