Retired Truck Driver Hauls Home Lucky Game Loaded with Lottery Cash

Owings Mills man claims $50,000 prize on Hot 7s Tripler game

A Baltimore County retiree who drove trucks for a living recently hauled away a winning instant ticket loaded with Lottery cash. He enjoys playing scratch-offs, especially new games, the lucky man said.  After purchasing a $5 Hot 7s Tripler scratch-off, the surprised winner went home laden with a hefty $50,000 top prize.

The 71-year-old made his fortunate stop at Owings Mills Sunoco located at 10812 Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills. After randomly selecting the new Hot 7s Tripler instant ticket, he took it to his car and went to work, scratching it off. “I couldn’t believe it,” the lucky winner said, recalling the moment he realized he had won $50,000.

The Owings Mills scratch-off player has only shared the great news with his daughter. He plans to use his winnings to pay bills. For its role in selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, Owings Mills Sunoco receives a $500 bonus from the Lottery.

The Hot 7s Tripler game went on sale on May 22 as a member of a Hot family of games. This instant ticket began with eight $50,000 top prizes. There are still six top prizes remaining along with nine $5,000 prizes. Other members of the Hot family of games include: $1 Hot 7s, $2 Hot 7s Doubler, $3 Red Hot Cash and $10 Hot 7s Multiplier. A $20 Hot 777 instant ticket went on sale in April.
