“Lucky Woman” has car shopping in her future after winning $50,000 on a $20 scratch-off.
Takes home $50,000 top prize playing $50,000 Cash scratch-off
Having hobbies can be beneficial. Just ask a 51-year-old Gaithersburg woman who plays scratch-offs as a pastime. She tried her luck with a $50,000 Cash instant ticket and saw her hobby paid off with a $50,000 top prize.
The anonymous winner selected the nickname “Lucky Woman” to tell the story of her good fortune. “Lucky Woman” plays Lottery games weekly with her husband. “Playing the Lottery is fun,” she said. “I love playing scratch-offs.”
Her current go-to-games are the Hot family of scratch-offs and the $30 Cash is King instant ticket. “Lucky Woman” is no stranger to winning. “I always finds myself winning and I consider myself lucky.” She’s won small amounts before but never anything close to $50,000.
On her way home the day she encountered Lottery luck, the Montgomery County resident stopped at 7-Eleven #32389 to grab a few items including scratch-offs. She saw a $20 $50,000 Cash instant ticket that she hadn’t played in a while and added it to her purchase along with a few other games.
She headed home and scratched off her instant tickets before she walked inside. That’s when she realized she won the top prize on the $50,000 Cash game. “I screamed because I couldn’t believe it. I was so happy,” she said. “Lucky Woman” rushed inside to share her good news with her husband and two daughters, who celebrated with her. “They all really consider it a blessing,” she said.
The next morning, “Lucky Woman” decided to confirm her big win and took the scratch-off to another Lottery retailer. She scanned the game’s prize check area and confirmed her big prize. When asked what she will do with her windfall, “Lucky Woman” said she plans to buy a new car.
For its role in selling the $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, 7-Eleven #32389 also benefits. The Montgomery County store located at 7980 Georgia Avenue will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
