Scratch-Off Brings $100,000 Late Christmas Gift for Baltimore Pair

It’s more than just blood that bonds the two city residents that claimed a prize at Lottery headquarters on May 11. The family lottery teammates both thoroughly enjoy playing scratch-offs. Even more so now, of course, since their favorite pastime delivered a $100,000 top prize win via a Silver Bell Bucks scratch-off.

“I was trying to decide which ticket to get for her when I saw it,” one told us, referring to the $10 holiday-themed ticket that debuted in October 2025. “She’s big into Christmas, so I knew she would love it.”

The retired pair buy tickets together, they explained, but never for themselves to scratch, only for the other. “I pick out hers, she picks out mine.” This system has worked quite well for them. “We win all of the time. Always small stuff, though. Never anything close to this.”

It was thirst that brought about the $100,000 winning ticket. In need of a cold drink, they pulled into Crestlyn Mart in Baltimore. While there, the duo decided to pick out a couple of tickets, and a few minutes later out in the car the Silver Bell Bucks ticket revealed its surprise.

“We just stared at it. No words. I don’t even think we were breathing.” The scratch-off veterans understood exactly what they were seeing, but just couldn’t bring themselves to accept it. After a few minutes, though, they looked at each other and broke into big smiles.

Silver Bell Bucks has one more $100,000 top prize available for players as well as 11 prizes of $10,000. The Baltimore pair’s lucky lottery retailer, located at 3838 Crestlyn Road, received a $1,000 bonus for selling the top-prize-winning scratch-off.
