A Silver Spring man had a ripple effect of lottery luck. An initial $10 scratch-off earned him a $500 prize. From that $500, he used $30 to buy a Diamonds & Gold scratch-off, which led to a $50,000 prize.
One day after leaving work, he made a stop at Glenmont Beer & Wine at 12351 Georgia Ave in Silver Spring to cash in the $500 winning ticket. That’s when he decided to try a $30 Diamonds & Gold scratch-off.
While still inside the store, he scanned the ticket and revealed his prize. Still in shock and disbelief, he called and shared the great news with his wife and brother-in-law.
He says he plans to use his winnings to pay off bills. The lucky Silver Spring man has worked in the medical field for over seven years. When he’s not working or playing the Lottery, he enjoys watching soccer.
The Diamonds & Gold scratch-off just launched in April. This win is the first $50,000 prize claimed on the ticket, which leaves three unclaimed. There are also still two $2 million top prizes remaining.
