Spontaneous Purchase Leads Eastern Shore Player to $100,000 Scratch-off Win

Finds top prize on Big Cash Riches game

A Caroline County woman purchased a Big Cash Riches scratch-off on a whim and wound up winning its $100,000 top prize.

The frequent Lottery winner, who typically plays scratch-offs, noted that this specific game just stood out to her. “It looked good and that’s what attracted me,” she said. The 60-year-old had stopped at Goose Creek #11 in Denton for supplies where she was randomly attracted to the Big Cash Riches scratch-offs.

Bold letters at the bottom of the game say “Top Prize $100,000!” That’s what initially got her attention. Shortly after playing, she realized that she won that $100,000 prize. Having been through a job layoff, the Eastern Shore resident said the windfall couldn’t have come at a better time.

“It’s such a relief, to be able to purchase stuff and not have to worry.”

This loyal scratch-off player isn’t the only one to benefit from the big win. Goose Creek #11, her retailer, can also celebrate. The Caroline County business located at 10519 Greensboro Road will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a top-prize winning scratch-off.

The Big Cash Riches game went on sale in December 2021 and there are four more top prizes available. The $10 instant ticket has seven unclaimed $20,000 prizes and 14 unclaimed $10,000 prizes.
