A Suitland woman recalled looking up at the Racetrax monitor at with a big smile when she realized she won $34,775 on the animated horse race game.
The Prince George County resident said Sept. 11 after she claimed her prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore that she had been using her birth date as a Racetrax combination, but had been having no luck. She wanted to try a new number and just went with the quick pick option. She placed a Superfecta box bet with the bonus option. Her strategy paid off as the horses 5,6,7, and 9 were first across the finish line in her Sept. 5 game, matching the randomly selected bet she had placed.
“It was like a dream,” the retiree said.
The loyal player plans to use her prize to get her finances in order then put a down payment on a house.
“I am very grateful for this win. It is a blessing,” she said. She says she enjoys spending most of her free time with her grandchildren.
