A ticket sold in Towson hit the Multi-Match jackpot on Thursday night, and was the Maryland Lottery’s biggest win of the week. The Multi-Match jackpot winner has 182 days from the drawing date to claim the prize, and can choose between the estimated $540,000 annuity paid in 25 yearly installments, or a one-time payment of the $290,000 estimated cash value.
Following right behind was a Lottery player in Columbia who claimed a $100,000 top prize on $100,000 Crossword 9th Edition scratch-off. Meanwhile, a Mega Millions ticket sold in Silver Spring, a Powerball ticket sold in Gaithersburg and a Pick 5 ticket sold in Oxon Hill each delivered $50,000 prizes last week.
During the week of Sept. 14-20, a total of 29 tickets statewide won Lottery prizes of $10,000 or more and the total winnings for all prizes statewide came to more than $28.5 million.
Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing date. FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after purchase. The last dates to claim for scratch-off tickets are posted on the scratch-offs page at mdlottery.com.
Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier window of any of the six casinos in Maryland. Prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations.
