Lucky lady placed $1 straight bet in Pick 5 game
A loyal Pick 5 player from Washington, D.C. who lives not far from the Maryland line said she never misses an opportunity to visit a Maryland Lottery retailer to buy tickets. The 62-year-old only bets her date of birth when playing Pick 5 and now she has a $50,000 windfall to show for it.
The lucky lady visited Eastover Liquors located at 4909 Indian Head Highway in Oxon Hill. After buying her tickets for several drawings and leaving the store, she actually forgot about them. It wasn’t until her sister called her later and told her that her birth date came out for one of the drawings that she realized that she was a winner.
“I was very happy,” the winner said. She hasn’t made any plans for her prize other than to save the windfall and help others in need.
Her lucky Lottery retailer, Eastover Liquors, will receive a $500 bonus for its role in selling a top-prize winning Pick 5 ticket. To win, she placed a $1 straight bet on several tickets.
