West Virginia Painter’s Stroke of Good Luck Leads to $100,000 Prize

Purchased lucky Bingo X10 Sixth Edition scratch-off in Frederick

Crossing the state line from West Virginia into Maryland for work led to an exciting ride home for a Maryland Lottery scratch-off fan. He stopped in Frederick to buy a Bingo X10 6th Edition instant ticket and returned home with a $100,000 top prize.

The painting contractor said he purchases two to three scratch-offs a week when he visits the Frederick area for work. On the day Lottery luck came his way, the loyal player stopped at Washingtonian Express at 1395 West Patrick Street in Frederick. He was excited that this trip ended with a top prize on the $10 game.

“When I went to scan my ticket, I couldn’t believe that I had won. I was very happy,” said the Martinsburg man.

The 42-year-old is going to place his prize into savings. His hobbies include playing and watching soccer as well as playing scratch-offs, of course, and he plans to keep playing Maryland Lottery games.

“I want to try to win again,” he said.

The Frederick County retailer that sold the lucky scratch-off, Washingtonian Express, will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.

This is the third top-prize winning instant ticket sold since the Bingo X10 6th Edition game went on sale on March 20. There are four $100,000 prizes that remain unclaimed, along with 12 unclaimed $10,000 prizes and others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
