It was a Sunday morning when a Worchester County woman made a trip to the store in Berlin and bought two scratch-off tickets. One of the store’s regular patrons made a recommendation for her to stay away from the $5 scratch-off tickets because they supposedly don’t pay out. The advice turned out to be bogus. The player bought two Festive Fortune tickets at $5 each, and the second one she scratched turned out to be a $50,000 winner.
This chain of events went down at Your Store, which is at 10137 Old Ocean City Boulevard in mainland town of Berlin, and the winner related the tale Nov. 13 when she claimed the prize.
After spending $10 at the kiosk for two tickets, she scratched and scanned them while she was still in the store. The first ticket was a non-winner.
On the second ticket, she scratched the bottom and revealed an ice-skate symbol for the top-prize of $50,000. Not believing her eyes, she scanned the ticket at the terminal and confirmed the big prize when she saw a notification saying, “See Lottery.”
She and her husband turned and looked at each other in shock.
The Eastern Shore native is a social media influencer and her husband works in construction. They plan to use the windfall to jumpstart their respective businesses. She wants to start a cleaning business and he plans to establish his own contracting business. The couple has two daughters and when they aren’t working, they enjoy spending family time together at the beach.
Your Store receives a $500 bonus equal to 1% of the prize total.
Festive Fortune was released in October and began with eight $50,000 top-prizes. This win leaves six top-prizes remaining along many lower tier prizes. Festive Fortune is one of nine tickets that can be entered into the second chance My Lottery Rewards Holiday Cash and Dash drawings. Players have a chance to win cash or a shopping spree. Weekly drawings began in October and the deadline to enter for the final drawing is January 12, 2026.
