Bonus Match 5 produced its first top-prize winner of 2024 as a $50,000 ticket was sold in Greenbelt on Wednesday night.

Safeway #0107 at 7595 Greenbelt Road in Prince George’s County sold the top-prize winning ticket for the Jan. 3 drawing. For doing so, the Greenbelt grocery store will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.

The winning numbers selected from the drawing are 9, 12, 18, 31 and 35; the Bonus Ball was 37. Lottery officials urge the winner to sign the back of the ticket and put it in a safe place. The player has 182 days to claim the prize.

Instructions on claiming prizes in person or by mail are available HERE. Players must redeem prizes larger than $25,000 by mail or at Lottery headquarters in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330 in Baltimore. There were 30 Bonus Match 5 top-prize winning tickets sold in 2023.

Drawings take place seven days a week. Players select five numbers ranging from 1 to 39. The Bonus Ball drawn from the remaining 34 numbers provides extra chances to win. Your ticket is a winner if you match five, four or three of the original five winning numbers selected in the drawing. If you match the Bonus Ball number, you only need to match four, three or two of your original numbers to win a prize.
