Third Time’s the Charm for Glen Burnie Player

Lucky lady wins Racetrax twice and Keno once in past six years

It’s truly amazing to win big money playing a Lottery game one time, but how about winning big three times? That is exactly what happened to a 49-year-old Glen Burnie woman. She arrived in the Lottery Winner’s Circle once again to celebrate her biggest prize yet of $101,340, which she won on a Racetrax Superfecta bet.

The married Anne Arundel County resident’s favorite game is Racetrax, but she also enjoys Keno and plays both games often. Last week, she was playing them with her husband at the Clinton Valero gas station before going about their day. The couple placed a Superfecta wager for 20 races on the horses numbered 7, 11, 6 and 9 to cross the finish line in that exact order. Checking the tickets later in the day using the Lottery’s mobile app, the players discovered the game’s virtual horses did indeed glide across the finish line for the big win.

“I said, ‘Whoa, we finally got it,’” recalled the husband.

“He called me in to show me and I was like, ‘Really? Are you sure?’” added the wife.

As veteran winners, they are familiar with the claiming process and came together to Lottery headquarters to claim their $101,340 prize. They shared that the winnings will go toward bills.

In 2016, the lucky lady claimed two big prizes in a matter of months. She won a $30,000 Keno prize in June followed by a $35,671 Racetrax prize in September. The third time’s the charm because she won a six-figure prize this time!

Sharing in their winning fun is the Clinton Valero gas station located at 6725 Old Alexandria Ferry Road in Clinton. The Prince George’s County retailer will receive a $1,013.40 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
