Edgewood Retail Manager Claims Top Prize on Crossword Scratch-Off

A retailer manager from Edgewood had just finished an overnight shift and decided to cash in a winning FAST PLAY ticket for a $10 prize. He used the prize money to buy what turned out to be a $100,000-winning ticket.

The chain of events happened at the Amoco – BP gas station at 2201 Pulaski Highway in Edgewood, where he bought the $10 $100,000 Crossword scratch-off. After the purchase, he sat down to breakfast and began his word search to close out his workday.

As he scratched his ticket, he kept finding matches. Once he found his 10th word, there was a bit less shock and awe because he had suspected a big win was coming because he had already revealed so many matches. Although there was a slight decline in shock value, he was still quite happy when he confirmed he had a $100,000 top prize.

The 20-year retailer manager said he has no major plans for his windfall except to put the money in the bank, speaking on Jan. 29 when he claimed the prize.

Edgewood Amoco – BP collects a $1,000 bonus as the retailer that sold a winning scratch-off worth $100,000.

The $100,000 Crossword ticket was launched in August of last year beginning with nine $100,000 top prizes.
