The Lottery will join the Maryland Home + Garden Show in Timonium this weekend to offer discounted admission with a donation to the Maryland Food Bank.
On Saturday, Feb. 28, attendees who bring a non-perishable item to the event will receive 50 percent off the cost of their admission ticket. The Maryland Lottery will then deliver the items to the Maryland Food Bank.
According to the Food Bank’s website, the most-needed items are fruit (cups, cans, raisins, applesauce) and rice. In addition to food, they also accept toiletries such as toothbrushes, soap and shampoo.
The Lottery will have a booth at the Maryland Home + Garden Show Feb. 28-March 1 and March 6-8. Those attending the event, who are at least 18 years old, can buy their favorite Lottery games and spin our prize wheel.
The Lottery will hold a special event at the show on March 7, when we’ll be joined by the four artists who created images for the Maryland Treasures scratch-off ticket and reveal their artwork to the public for the first time. The event will begin at 11 a.m. on the Main Stage in the Cow Palace at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. The Maryland Treasures Art Contest was held last year and invited local artists to submit images that celebrated elements of Maryland’s history, culture, traditions or landmarks.
