Baltimore couple “The Birds” chomp their way to a $30,000 top prize Ms.PAC-MAN scratch-off win.
A Lottery scratch-off fan and her husband win $30,000 playing the Ms.PAC-MAN scratch-off game at the player’s favorite Lottery retailer. The happy winner was finishing up a hair salon visit about three weeks ago when Ms.PAC-MAN showed up by her side.
Her husband picked her up from the salon, and, feeling confident with her fresh hair-do, she wanted to play some scratch-off games. The Baltimore sports loving couple using the name “The Birds” for publicity purposes headed to their favorite spot to buy tickets.
“We go there because I win there a lot,” the winner Sept. 3 when they claimed her prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. “I wanted to cash some tickets that I already had and buy some more, but the machine was down.”
She reached in her pocket and, with her last $12, bought four $3 Ms.PAC-MAN tickets. “The Birds” then headed home where the wife got comfortable and settled in to play her games. Like many Lottery players do, she scratched the bottom of the ticket and scanned the prize check code to see if they were winners.
“The very first ticket said, ‘Take to the Retailer’ and I thought something is not right, so I scanned again,” she smiled. “The same message came up and I knew I was a winner.”
She showed her husband and son telling them, “I think I’ve got a big one”.
To be sure, the next day “The Birds” went back to their usual retailer for confirmation and it showed she had a $30,000 winning ticket.
“I didn’t get too excited,” said the husband of “The Birds,” adding, “She wins a lot and I am happy for her.”
The wife reports winning a big second-chance prize playing Lottery a few years ago.
When sharing their story with Lottery officials, the couple said they don’t have any immediate plans for the winnings and will put the money into savings for now.
The Ms.PAC-MAN scratch-off game launched in April 2026, now has four $30,000 top prizes remaining as well as thousands of prizes ranging from $3 to $1,000.
“The Birds” found their good fortune at Morgan’s BP Service Station at 607 Frederick Road in Catonsville. For selling the $30,000 winning ticket, the Lottery retailer will receive a $300 bonus.
The $3 Ms.PAC-MAN scratch-off is designed to resemble the Ms.PAC-MAN arcade game and offers instant prizes up to $30,000.
